Microsoft’s surface pro tablet with 128 GB capacity and Intel processor got sold out on first day of its launch all over US. With a massive ad campaign for the product and reaching out to its customers in all ways possible Microsoft must have expected crowds thronging their online and offline stores to get a glimpse of Surface. But potential buyers were not able to get their hands on the gadget and returned back empty handed.
Microsoft have also stopped advance booking for its other surface tablet with RT interface because of this unprecedented demand for its tablet. They must have done a potential sales forecast before their launch of their product and even if they have done it , the forecasts went badly wrong this time for Microsoft. It is best to pile inventory than to saying “NO” to potential customers who are always on the verge to go for the next better product in the market.
Hope MS learns from this, they are taking some time to modify themselves from “only software” company to “software and hardware” company.
